Homeowners in the St. Paul/Minneapolis metro area have a wide range of contractors to choose from for roofing repair and installation. Some offer the lowest price, others the fastest turnaround, and some claim to be roofing specialists. And if you're looking to use a particular product, your choices might include only those certified or recommended by the manufacturer. But there are other factors to consider - and those include experience and reputation. Because when you hire a contractor, those things come along with the project. Some things to consider:
- Are they licensed and insured? Minnesota state law requires that all residential building contractors be licensed, and part of the licensing requirements is insurance. Ask for proof of insurance and their contractor license.
- How long have they been in business? With the current economic conditions, businesses are coming and going quickly these days.
- If your home was built before 1978, you'll need to make sure your contractor has a federally-mandated lead-safe certification.
- Will they give you references you can contact?
- Will they stand behind what they install?
- Manufacturers may warranty their products; does your contractor warranty their work as well?
- We warranty our workmanship
- Our crews are certified and experienced
- We're proud members of many industry associations
- We're exclusive or approved dealers for a wide range of premium building products such as roofing, siding, windows, doors, and gutters--companies such as Certainteed and United States Seamless
