There is a lot to get done to our homes here in the Minneapolis area when the sun start shining, and if the calls we've been getting are any indication, roofs are on many homeowners' lists. you look up on the roof and know it needs help, but what needs to be taken care of? Where do you start? Who do you call and what needs to be done to complete the process? A roof replacement can be a major project. If your home needs a new roof, you may have many questions. We'd like to walk you through the steps you need to take to make it as easy as possible on you.
The first steps are to do your homework.
- Before you start the process of finding the best contractor for the job, you have to be organized. Make a binder or folder of everything that you need beforehand. This is where you will keep all of the information on the contractors you're considering, and any information on the roof that they might need to give you a quote. If you've got inspection reports, warranties, or any other paperwork on your existing roof, that might be helpful.
- Add lists of the styles and colors of roofing material you like. Also list questions you have for them, such as how long it might take to get done, can you be home, what do you do with your pets and any other questions or concerns you have. This way, you do not leave anything out when speaking with them.
- Check out some of the options in roofing. You want something that says a lot about you and your home, and also something that you feel would look the best on your home. If you find some particular roofing you like, make note of it.
- Ask people around you, from work, family, and those that you know if they can recommend a roofing contractor. You want someone reputable and that does great work. Read reviews, check out websites, etc.
